I think people living at or below the poverty threshold are considered poor.
Why I believe people are poor in the United States and globally
Some people live in poverty due to the lack of employment and scarcity of jobs within the job market.
I think the following is being done about poverty?
The Government has established the following programs to help address poverty within the United States:
WIC, TANIF, FOOD STAMPS, MEDICAID, HOUSING ASSISTANCE, and other programs.
How well do I think poverty is being addressed currently in the United States and globally?
I feel that poverty is not being addressed properly in the United States and globally. The Government along with other Nations need to spend more money and resources on reducing poverty.
What do I think should be done about poverty in the United States and globally!I feel that the methods used to calculate the poverty threshold values should be changed to reflect current market prices for the year that calculations are to be used, not the previous years data. More funding from the Government and Private Sector should be used to help reduce poverty here in the United States and around the World.
Hii, I'm Brooke and I'm in your class! Umm basically i agree with everything your saying. Hah but i guess one thing that I think about, mainly because i've just grown up believing it but that some people are poor too because they are possibly just lazy and survive off of welfare. So i guess i would consider that also. But other than that good job! andd it would be much appreciated if you could comment on my blog too! brookehutto.wordpress.com thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm Shawneke and I am also in your class. But For the most part I agree with what you are saying, I just think that you could have gone more in depth with who you think are poor, because the answer that you have is kind of a text book answer, and doesn't identify a specific group or anything like that. But hey, I'm not the professor I just thought it would be more interesting to see who you think are poor. Good job though!
